WHAT TO EXPECT
A thoughtful
counseling process

You do not need to arrive with the right words or a perfectly organized story. We will begin by understanding what is happening, what you hope will change, and what kind of support may be most useful.

Sessions are collaborative and active, with room for reflection, practical skill-building, and honest conversation.

HOW COUNSELING UNFOLDS
A process with direction, not a rigid formula
Every person’s experience is different, but counseling generally includes three overlapping parts.
01
Understanding Your Concerns
We will discuss what brings you to counseling, how it affects everyday life, and the experiences or patterns that may be contributing. You can share your story at a pace that feels manageable.
02
Setting Meaningful Goals
Together, we will identify what you want to understand, change, strengthen, or accept. Goals give counseling direction without forcing your experience into a rigid timeline.
03
Putting Insight into Practice
Sessions may include reflection, practical skill-building, examining thoughts and patterns, practicing new responses, and regularly reviewing what is—and is not—helping.
